Our History How We started
The Carver Christian University(formerly Monrovia Bible College is an offspring of Carver Mission which was founded in November 1955 as a result of a group of Black American Missionaries who were burdened to serve in Africa as Bible Teachers. The Mission started with a Bible School and subsequently a Bible Institute.
It was not until 1984 that the college began a baccalaureate degree program which was charted by the Liberian National Legislature in 1985 as the need for college level education became more evident.. Since then, it has graduated students with bachelor degrees in Theology and Christian Education many of whom have earned their master and doctorate degrees in various fields of life. Additionally, the National Commission on Higher Education and the Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery (LBNM) of the Republic of Liberia has accredited the institution.
Today, the University still purposes to prepare men and women to serve their home, community and work place for the advancement of their country and to the glory of God. The college wants students not only to be prepared to impact Liberia but to impact the world in addition. Carver Christian University is working hard to improve its present facilities and to expand its programs to better serve students and Liberia.
